The Patterns in Nature Collection explores the relationship between flora and fauna through craft. Inspired by the natural stories found in wood grains, bird movements, and landscape forms, each piece uses contour marquetry and tin inlay to create detailed illustrations directly onto the wood surface. Dyed veneers are cut and arranged to form birds, branches, and abstracted natural patterns, then outlined with fine tin inlay to give definition and depth. Developed in collaboration with storyteller Salim Azzam, the collection reflects how living creatures find their place within the environment, much like how pattern finds its place within wood. It brings forward the poetic side of craft, where narrative and material meet. This collection expresses a quiet sense of wonder, transforming cabinets and tables into scenes of nature that feel both graphic and gentle.
