About Nada Debs
Nada Debs is an award-winning Levantine designer living and working between Beirut, Dubai, and Osaka. Trained as an Interior Architect, she works fluidly across scales and mediums, bringing craft sensibility and emotional resonance to every space and object she designs.
Raised in Japan and educated at the Rhode Island School of Design, Nada spent years living and traveling across continents. Through her experiences, craft became a means of connection to her Arab roots, as well as a mode of dialog with different cultures. Fascinated by the role of the human hand as a carrier of memory and belonging, she explores intricate crafts and pattern as universal expressions that transcend geography, language, and time.
Her work is driven by a belief in design’s ability to move beyond form and function, distilling culture and craftsmanship into objects and spaces that resonate on an emotional, almost primal level. This approach is one she describes as Handmade & Heartmade defines a practice where design becomes an expression of feeling as much as form.
In addition to acting as Creative director of her eponymous international practice, Nada is committed to advancing craft-led design from the Global South through active engagement with cultural and design organizations. Her involvement includes collaborations with institutions such as Institut du Monde Arabe, Design Doha, We Design Beirut, Downtown Design, Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, INAASH Association, Maison de l’Artisan, and FBMI. She supports initiatives that sustain craft traditions while positioning them within contemporary global discourse.
About Studio Nada Debs
Studio Nada Debs is a multidisciplinary design practice established in Lebanon, that operates at the intersection of Eastern craftsmanship and contemporary design. Guided by the ethos Handmade & Heartmade, the design studio honors craft as a meditative process that brings forth objects of emotional and cultural resonance.
As craft custodians, the studio works in close collaboration with artisans and makers across the world, preserving time-honored skills, supporting their communities, and expanding the potential of heritage crafts to ensure their relevance today. Rooted in this approach is a commitment to forging meaningful connections by embracing duality - the coexistence of contrasting yet complementary ideas, that allow unexpected possibilities to emerge through the unspoken languages of craft, material, and pattern.
Since its establishment in 2003, the studio has delivered a wide range of projects spanning scale and discipline; from high-end interiors and global collaborations to bespoke commissions, and corporate gifting. Alongside this, the brand presents distinct furniture and accessory collections, each developed through extensive experimentation to reinterpret and celebrate specific craft techniques.
Functioning as a design studio, retail practice and cultural platform, the brand aims to contribute to an evolving Arab identity expressed through quality products that stand the test of time. The brand has steadily expanded beyond Lebanon, establishing an international presence through global collaborations, trade exhibitions, and multinational retailers. With headquarters in Dubai and Beirut, the brand continues to broaden its reach while remaining committed to positioning craft-led design from the Arab world on a global stage.
