ACDF - Okhun Gozar Mosque
Uzbekistan
2025
Investing in arts and culture - as both a domestic priority and a form of international positioning - is a key focus for Uzbekistan, led by the Art and Culture Development Foundation, spearheaded by Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of ACDF.
A recent creative collaboration with Lebanese designer Nada Debs breathes new life into the abandoned Okhun Gozar Mosque in Tashkent, situated within a fragrant rose garden in the historic blacksmith's quarter. Originally built in 1775, the space now functions as a quietly immersive Craft Salon for the country's living craft traditions, from Fergana ceramics and Bukhara embroidery to Khiva woodwork and Samarkand stone carving, among other curated works.
