The Carapace Collection is inspired by the layered geometry found in a turtle’s shell. Using a technique developed in the studio, artisans arrange wood veneers so that the grain shifts direction from segment to segment. This creates a subtle pattern that changes with the light, revealing the natural beauty of the wood. Fine tin inlay is added between the veneer segments to outline the geometry and enhance the sense of movement. Crafted primarily in French oak, the pieces blend material honesty with precise craftsmanship. The collection reflects our continuous exploration of pattern and nature, transforming a simple, surface-based technique into a quiet expression of rhythm, structure, and subtle detail.
